Berops started as an IT house in 2016 with the mission to assist businesses in running their IT Operations. Nowadays we’re expanding our small team due to a rising demand for the services we provide and we are seeking smart candidates for a position of DevOps Engineer.

A successful candidate will be a part of our international and distributed Service Continuity Team with the main goal of ensuring a disruption-less service delivery to our clients. Daily activities of the new team member will be:

  • Keeping a watch on all our live deployments across all clients
  • Pro-actively preventing potential problems from occurring
  • Resolving detected and reported incidents
  • Improving our incident detection automation
  • Keeping our stack up-to-date in all our deployments
  • Capacity planning activities
  • Assisting our clients with any further issues they encounter on our solutions

The deployments we manage are built from pre-configured modules from our library. Our typical stack in order to achieve the above includes, but is not limited to:

  • GitLab as the code repository provider
  • Jenkins, Travis or GitLabCI for continuous integration
  • Ansible for configuration management
  • Kubernetes on Docker as the service run-time orchestration platform
  • Terraform for infrastructure management
  • GCP, AWS, OCI and Azure as the cloud providers

The candidates we’re looking for must have:

  • bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • good knowledge of the Linux ecosystem and its environment
  • profound knowledge of at least one programming or scripting language (Golang, Python, NodeJS, Java, C++/C#, Bash, …)
  • basic network administration knowledge
  • good written and spoken English
  • attitude to learn and explore new ideas and technologies

And on top of that, an ideal candidate has:

  • experience with any CI/CD framework
  • experience with app containerization (Docker)
  • experience with public IaaS/PaaS offerings
  • at least theoretical knowledge of container orchestration
  • drive to achieve full automation
  • knowledge of at least one configuration management tool (Ansible, SaltStack, …)
  • Git code management skills
  • Linux/Unix sysadmin skills

After a warm-up period we’d like the new team member to join our on-call loop as our clients run businesses 24/7. The clients are predominantly from Europe. Travelling on this position is not required. The salary range for this position is from 18 000 – 42 000 €/yr.

We are seeking primarily full-time commitment, but we’re open to other forms of cooperation and time commitment as well.
